PAD THAI - A WORLD -FAMOUS THAI SIGNATURE DISH
When it comes to Thai cuisine, Pad Thai is often one of the first dishes that comes to mind. It's a well-loved dish that's easy to find across Thailand and has gained international fame for its rich flavors and universal appeal. Pad Thai is suitable for all ages and is considered a must-try for any visitor to Thailand.
THE MEANING AND ORIGIN OF PAD THAI
Pad Thai is Thailand’s national dish and a true culinary symbol of the country. Its fame extends far beyond Thailand's borders, and for many travelers, tasting Pad Thai is an essential part of their journey. The dish has its roots in Chinese-style stir-fried noodles, once called "kuay teow pad". Later, it was renamed Pad Thai to reflect a more distinctly Thai identity.
The flavor profile of Pad Thai is a perfect balance of sour, sweet, salty, and spicy—representing the essence of Thai taste.
WHAT IS PAD THAI?
Pad Thai is a stir-fried noodle dish made with thin, flat rice noodles. It's typically cooked with garlic, tofu, chopped preserved radish, bean sprouts, Chinese chives, eggs, and dried shrimp. The dish is flavored with tamarind paste, palm sugar, fish sauce, and chili flakes, then topped with roasted crushed peanuts for a rich, nutty finish.
